What is AI visibility — and why it matters

AI visibility is how often — and how favourably — AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity name and cite your brand when buyers ask the questions that lead to a purchase. It isn’t a single Google ranking; it’s a composite across engines: one assistant may cite you, another may name a competitor instead, and a third may not mention you at all.

Improving it is a discipline of its own — GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation). It overlaps with classic SEO, but it also depends on signals SEO tools don’t measure: which third-party sources the assistants trust, how those sources describe you, and whether your own pages are structured the way assistants prefer to quote.

As more buyers open an AI assistant before a search engine, being absent from those answers means losing the shortlist before anyone visits your site. Synect GEO measures where you stand across all four assistants and tells you the exact moves that change the answer.

Everything you need to win AI answers

Not a rank tracker. A recommendation-led view of your presence in the assistants buyers now ask first.

AI Visibility Score

One 0–100 score (with an A–F grade) for how discoverable your brand is across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity — cited, mentioned, or absent, scored the same way every time.

Auto-generated prompts

Enter a URL — we read the page, detect your market and language, and generate the buyer prompts to test (10–50, mostly non-branded), seeded from real buyer-demand signals. Or paste your own.

Platform & market filters

Run up to 3 target markets at once. Filter the report by AI platform and by country — Mentions by engine and Mentions by country, side by side.

Sentiment & competitors

Not just whether AI names you — how it portrays you (sentiment per answer) and which rivals get co-mentioned or cited ahead of you.

Topics & sources

Performing topics, topic opportunities you're missing, the sources AI cites for you — and the source opportunities where you should earn coverage.

Action list, on demand

Click to generate a prioritized GEO/AEO playbook — exact change, example rewrite, and why it works — plus the competitor-gap analysis.

Three reports, one audit

AI Visibility runs automatically. Generate Content and Off-Page on demand — then roll them into a combined dashboard with a trend line and Word / PDF export.

How it works

01

Enter your brand & website

We fetch the page, detect your market and language, and auto-generate the buyer prompts — or paste your own.

02

We ask the AI assistants

Your prompts run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity — per market — streaming a live grid.

03

An arbiter scores every answer

Each response is classified cited, mentioned, or absent, with sentiment and competitors — failures excluded, never counted against you.

04

Read, act, and export

Score, opportunities, and an on-demand action list. Generate Content & Off-Page reports, then export the lot to Word or PDF.

How we measure it — and why the score holds up

AI answers are noisy. These are the choices that make your score fair, repeatable, and worth acting on.

Incognito by default

Every prompt is a fresh API call to each assistant — no chat history and no account personalization — so your score reflects what a new buyer sees, not a session skewed by past activity.

Real buyer demand

Auto-generated prompts are seeded from Google People-Also-Ask and related searches — the questions people actually type — not prompts we invented.

Citations, verified

Web-grounded modes (Perplexity) let us confirm genuine third-party citations to your domain, not just a brand name the model happened to mention.

Deterministic scoring

The same published rubric runs on every answer, so your score is directly comparable across runs, engines, and markets — real progress, not noise.

Nothing counted unfairly

A failed or unavailable engine is excluded, never scored as a zero; a page we can't fully read is marked N/A, not failed.

Your data, your control

Prompts run on paid API terms that exclude training the models on your inputs, and you can export or permanently delete everything at any time.

A dashboard, not a data dump

Your report, made to be read.

Score gauges, a cited / mentioned / absent heatmap across every prompt and engine, sentiment and competitor co-mention charts, and a prioritized action board — built from structured data, so every number traces back to its source.

Your top questions answered

What is AI visibility (GEO/AEO)?

Generative & Answer Engine Optimization: being the answer AI assistants give, not just a blue link on a search page. We measure whether assistants name and cite your brand when buyers ask.

Which AI assistants do you check?

ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity — the assistants real buyers use. Perplexity and other web-grounded modes let us verify genuine third-party citations.

How do you query the AI assistants?

We call each assistant's own API fresh for every prompt — with no chat history or account personalization carried over — so your score reflects what a new buyer would see, not a session skewed by past activity. In auto mode the prompts are seeded from real buyer-demand signals for your topic, then run across the AI engines you have enabled (all four by default) and scored the same way every time.

Which is the best AI visibility tool?

The right AI-visibility (GEO/AEO) tool depends on what you need — the assistants your buyers actually use, honest and repeatable scoring, and clear next steps. Synect GEO tests real buyer-demand prompts across all four major assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity) and up to three markets, verifies genuine third-party citations rather than just brand mentions, scores every run the same way so progress is comparable, and turns the result into a prioritized action list plus on-demand Content and Off-Page reports — not just a dashboard. It measures something distinct from traditional keyword-rank and backlink tracking: what the assistants actually say about you, not where you land on a search results page.

Can I target specific markets?

Yes — pick up to 3 target markets and we run a market-specific prompt set for each, then let you filter the report by country and by AI platform.

What reports do I get?

Three: AI Visibility (always), plus Content Recommendations and Off-Page — generated on demand. A combined dashboard rolls them up, and you can export to Word or PDF.

Can I use my own prompts?

Yes. Paste up to 50 prompts plus your brand and website — no setup required — and get your visibility report in minutes.

How accurate is the scoring?

Scoring is deterministic with strict, published rules: real third-party citations beat self-mentions, and any failed engine is excluded — never scored as a zero.

Where is my data stored — and is it used to train the AI?

Your account and reports are stored in the EU (Ireland). To run an audit we send your prompts to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity on paid API terms that exclude using your inputs to train their models. You can export or permanently delete everything from Settings at any time.

How often should I run an audit?

Run one whenever your content, positioning, or the market shifts — then use ↻ Re-run on the same prompts to track your score over time. Each re-run shows the change versus your previous run and adds a point to your trend line.
